We decided to use Emma (me) as the actress for Karen, because we couldn't find anyone else to play the part, and I had done Drama for GCSE, and was doing drama as a hobby. I'm quite small, with blonde hair, so we decided I could fulfill the female gender stereotype. Also, because I was already part of the crew, it would be easy for me to be there on the filming day. Karen will be wearing a smart skirt and shirt in
our production, because she works in an office, and so she must look professional. We have decided that a skirt would be more
appropriate for the character because the skirt would highlight the ‘damsel in
distress’ stereotype. We have also
decided she will wear high heels, because they look very feminine, which is the
mood we want to set for her, but also so that when we film in the warehouse,
her heels will clatter and echo against the floor, giving an eerie tone to those
scenes. Her hair will also be down, to
enhance the stereotypical themes of Karen.

The actor playing Joe will be Alex Hetherington. We chose him because he was a part of our team, so we knew he would be available for filming when we needed him to be there. He has also had some acting experience, which gave him the confidence to be able to do the job. Joe will be wearing office wear,
because he is at work and he needs to look smart. As you can see in the picture below, he is wearing a jacket
and dark trousers, so that he doesn't look too formal, but looks tidy enough to
work in an office. The plain outfit will
make him seem more normal and act as a typical male office worker.

We won’t see the villain character, except for in shadow and silhouette form, so there is no actor for this part. This is because we think that the ambiguity of the character will make him/her more threatening.
